About Dr. Clark

Sheryl Clark, MD, FAAD is committed to providing only the best in aesthetic and preventative dermatology. Her treatment algorithms derive from peer-reviewed scientific research and more than 20 years of practice experience.

Before obtaining her MD from Case-Western Reserve, she was a psychotherapist, a student of Anna Freud, and a medical editor in London. She was a research fellow for the CWRU Schistosomiasis Control Program in Kenya, Africa. She completed her postgraduate training in medicine and then engaged in basic science research for 4 years during her dermatology residency at Washington University Medical Center/Barnes Hospital, where she was Chief Resident.

Dr. Clark served as a full-time professor at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Cornell before founding The Center for Aesthetic and Preventative Dermatology at East 61st Street and Park Avenue, and is Clinical Assistant Professor at Cornell University Medical College and Assistant Attending Physician at The New York Presbyterian Hospital, where she continues to teach doctors and medical students about the skin. In 2021, she founded MD Skin Science.

She fulfilled her lifelong interest in wellness care and preventative medicine by creating a practice grounded in the tenets of traditional medicine and enhanced by those of integrative functional medicine. Her approach to patient care considers the impact of lifestage and lifestyle on health, vitality, and beauty as well as longevity, inflammation, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and other disease. Approaches to treat skin disorders and optimize skin health and beauty, at any age, may include prescription and/or non-Rx medication, nutritional counseling and supplementation, exercise guidance, or stress reduction methods.

Dr. Clark is a highly-skilled advanced injector of all dermal and deep fillers and botulinum medications with over 20 years’ experience, and owns and operates numerous medical devices for the treatment of the full range of aesthetic concerns of her patients. She knows that the best responses to aesthetic procedures are obtained when patients’ health and nutritional status are optimized. Her decades of experience have led her to innovate new approaches and treatments to difficult problems including Acne Boot Camp: Dare to be Clear™ and the ProContourMD Liquid Facelift™.

When Dr. Clark is not seeing patients, she is pursuing her work as an author, teacher, basic science and clinical researcher, consultant and advisory board member, frequent contributor to media outlets, and nationally-renowned trainer and advanced injector with more than 25 years of experience. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a Fellow of The New York Academy of Medicine, and a member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. She serves on the advisory boards of several pharmaceutical and medical technology companies, as well as RealSelf. She has studied, performed research, and worked in other countries including England, Sweden, Germany, and Kenya, and has served as the president of her coop for more than 20 years. While she has dedicated her life to helping her patients, she also loves to sail, scuba dive, ski, snowshoe, bicycle, hike and travel with her family and friends, enjoys painting and creative writing, and hanging with her two impossibly adorable and naughty rescue cats, Chloe and Noche.
